The Big Plastic Count mailing
The Big Plastic Count is the biggest nationwide investigation into where our recycled plastic REALLY goes. Inspired by Everyday Plastic’s Daniel Webb, who collected every piece of his plastic waste for a year, this is a citizen-science project open to everyone – individuals, families, schools, businesses, and community groups.
Using a simple tally sheet, supporters count their plastic packaging waste for a week to receive an automated report on the likely fate of their recycling. Then, with all the data amassed by the Count, Greenpeace can lobby the government and businesses even harder to address plastic pollution once and for all – turning off the plastic tap at the source.
